(December 2022) As we begin to wrap up the first half of our year, I would like to highlight some of the tremendous things happening here at Country Trails. Most importantly I am so proud of our students and staff in all of their hard work and efforts to close the learning gap we saw during COVID-19. The Illinois State Board of Education designates ratings to all schools across the state. The highest rating a school can receive is EXEMPLARY and is only assigned to the top 10% of schools – this was the rating Country Trails received! None of this would not be possible without our partnership between school and home. If you would like a deeper dive on how this designation is determined you can find do so HERE.
I would like to highlight all of our community events that continue to grow each and every year. As most of you are aware, Family Literacy Night had almost 1000 people attend this year. We will continue as a team to look for ways to make the flow and accessibility of the event to support all of our growth. Veteran’s Day was also a great success and we are so blessed to have the ability to honor and show our appreciation to all of our Veterans. Thank you again to all that were able to come out and share your story with our students.
Our Cougar Pride House initiative has seen so much positive change here at CT. Students genuinely want to earn their Cougar Pride tickets with positive behavior and a chance to take over the school. I personally have had so much fun enjoying breakfast with our monthly winners. Big shoutout to RED, PURPLE, GREEN as the three houses who have taken over the school for the first part of the year. The winning house for the month of December is the YELLOW house. Great job Cougars!
As we enter our winter season I am wishing the very best to you and your family. Hoping that you are able to spend time as a family and celebrate any festivities that you cherish most. We eagerly look forward to finishing the school year strong.
As always, It’s a great day to be a Country Trails Cougar!
Sincerely,
Mr. Graydon Engle
